CCI was founded in 2013 by four women who strove for a different way of being in the professional landscape. These four women had a vision of working alongside individuals and organizations to help them understand ways in which learning and transformation happen. Although time brings change to every door, CCI has continued to adapt to be able to support institutions and learners in their own process of transformation.
As a co-founder of CCI, I have been transformed working with people who engage deeply. Collaborating with this dynamic team of mindful people changes how I view myself and highlights for me inspiring qualities humans have when given space and support.

Kris (PhD, Intercultural Communication, 2008) is former faculty at Georgia State University and Fulbright Scholar to Honduras. At Purdue University, she directs the Center for Intercultural Learning, Mentorship, Assessment and Research (CILMAR), which works with faculty and staff to embed intercultural learning across the curriculum and produce cutting-edge research on intercultural competence development. Dr. Acheson is a well-published scholar and an in-demand trainer on pedagogy and assessment. Several years ago, Dr. Acheson dreamed of creating a “science gateway” for interculturalists, and the Intercultural Learning Hub (www.hubicl.org) has recently become a reality under her leadership.
Shelley has fifteen years’ experience in higher education administration focused on global education, and three years’ experience in undergraduate- and graduate-level teaching.
She has a proven track record of leadership in collaborative and innovative international academic program building and program management, with demonstrated success in managing, systematizing, and growing a multi-function global education center. Shelley also has a nuanced understanding of university management, with experience working across international, provost’s, dean of the college, and academic departmental functions.
She has an earned PhD, Chinese language proficiency, and high-level writing, communications, strategic planning, problem-solving and resource allocation skills.
Born in Malawi, molded by South Africa, as a member of the CCI team, Natasha is in charge of our Social Media Creation, Strategic Content Planning, and Administration.
